This is a diagram I created to give others an idea of what Ms.Stamp's classroom looks like inside.
It's a very simple, tidy, and organized space - a perfect learning environment for a middle school-aged student with exceptionalities!
These photographs, taken the same day that I created the diagram above, show Ms. Stamp's classroom in real life.

In order to help all their students succeed, Narcoossee Middle School follows what is known as the "Florida Continuous Improvement Model." This program aims to close achievement gaps by providing students with a challenging and responsive learning environment, as well as opportunities for educational enrichment.

While conducting research for my Classroom Management Project, I was lucky enough for a teacher to give me one of the
Acrostic Poem Posters that NMS uses as its school rules.
I think this is a pretty cute and simple way to present a standard set of rules that everyone will be sure to remember!

Learning about Thermal Energy Transfer with Ice Cream
in Mrs. Arroyo's 6th Grade Science Class!
We made our ice cream by placing a ziplock sandwich-sized baggie full of cream, vanilla, and sugar inside a gallon-sized ziplock baggie filled with ice and rock salt.
Yummy! Just think how tasty it will be once we finish shaking!
The baggies will get very cold when the chill of the ice transfers to the inner baggie full of cream and sugar. Keep shaking or it will not freeze!
How much longer will it take?
Is it done yet?
Look at our ice cream!
So tasty!
No ma'am...I would not like to share!
Now our tummys are full!

I am so proud of the bulletin board I created for Ms. Stamp!
Designing it was so much fun, then getting the students involved in the creation made it even better yet!
After I posted the alien I drew and the snappy little phrase, I gave each student their own construction paper planet. I explained that everyone was going to work together to make this bulletin board totally unique and absolutely personalized just for this class. To do this, each student would write their name on their planet, decorate it as they wished, then write the title of at least one book they were currently reading. After this, I gave each student star cut-outs where they could write the titles or paste pictures of books they were interested in reading soon. This way, the students can see a daily reminder of the reading goals that they have set for themselves...and, they can even add to the bulletin board if they'd like!

I absolutely love the idea that Ms. Stamp had to keep her 6th grade Learning Strategies students organized! In order to help them cope with the stress and confusion of their end of the year projects in Language Arts and Math, she created a colorful graphic organizer for each assignment right on her classroom wall. Not only is each project broken down into its component parts, but each is presented in a fun and colorful way so that the students can see what they need to accomplish by the final due date for each. What a great resource for them and Ms. Stamp!
